I always prefered this app over 'the reddit is awesome' app, because I thought it didn't look like a mess and it was fast. Since the last update everything lags and I can barely open anything without a loading delay between screens. I don't know what happened in the development team, but this could not have been the way it was intented. Hopefully it will get fixed, else I'm going to use the third party app for reddit. After the most recent update it lags so much. Opening the app gives me a good 5-10 seconds of frozen screen and the same is applied if I want to comment on a post. Other than that it's great and I use it everyday. There is usually new content all the time, just have to escape the "hot" bar because it'll display the same posts for days. I'm on a S8+. The recent update made the app lag so much. Viewing photos takes a good 5 seconds and videos are even worse. My connection is fine and was the same and the phone is fine too before anyone asks (i can watch 4k vids youtube on my phone as easily as I can breathe so dont tell me its my phone or my damn internet connection). Definitely something happened to the new update. Please have a look devs Full Review

Started to use the "Reddit is fun" app instead after the last update. The font size is too large now and it makes reading uncomfortable on the official app. Reddit is fun will save your position if you exit the app and will also ask you if you really want to leave when accidentally pressing the back button. Its much easier to use I don't know why the official app doesnt have the same features Full Review

New update brings some nice polish. I like the new dark mode but think it be good to still offer a truly black mode for those who still want it. Also I feel like the top bar when reading through the comments on a post takes up way too much screen space and the new comment bar seems like an unnecessary waste if space and should revert to back to how it was before. Otherwise nice to see you guys improving the app. Full Review

This app is amazing, I love it and use it all the time and it is like your own personalized mini internet. With that being said, the new update they just released has broken it. I am lucky to swipe through 5 stories without it crashing, and opening a community will crash the app 80% of the time. Please fix the bugs, then it's a 5. Full Review

I've been quite satisfied up until this most recent update. The app will randomly freeze, especially when opening a thread or trying to comment or make a new post. I recently had to restart my phone because the app wouldn't let me close out, scroll, or anything. This doesn't happen with any other apps for me.ME Full Review

Very weak app performance from a company running one of the most popular websites worldwide. Images and Gifs take far too long to load and are often too compressed to be useful. It also crashes Very frequently. I run a 2017 phone with the latest OS so expect much better from an app used by millions. I am no expert, but I think The app devs need to scrap what they have and build a better framework from scratch. Full Review

Reddit is one of them apps for me that's a go to whenever I'm procrastinating at home or work. Brilliant for seeing content of all kinds. The new UI update is beautiful and makes the app that much more appealing to look at, especially in night mode! Must have app on any phone. Full Review

Edit 2017-Dec-27: the latest update which changed the ui, crashes multiple times in a use. Settings are very very slow to open. Please fix it ASAP. I love it. It's the app I use it as my daily news aggregator. App loads quickly. Scrolls smoothly. Like how everything is layered out. I have not posted anything yet using my app. So can't talk about that. This app worked fine until the last update. Now it takes 5 minutes for the text menu to load when commenting. It also crashes very often. New edit: it's freezing my phone completely pretty often. Leaves the keyboard floating on top of everything else and won't go away. They seriously ruined the app recently. Uninstalled and got Reddit is Fun, it's working a lot better. I would highly recommend using ANY other Reddit app. Full Review

Would be good if it wasn't so slow and didn't crash ask the time. Has some really cool features that make it better than others like the Reddit chat and easy interface for mods. For the time being, I have to rate 2 stars. It slows down my phone overall with the notifications, and the app is buggy. Full Review

Extremely unstable, has massive lag whenever you try to return from an external link back to the post or when trying to compose a new reply. If you leave the app open and turn the screen off, don't expect it to be there when you come back. Has random hitches while scrolling the index. All this was introduced in the latest major update, which also included a visual rework. For what's it worth, the new visual design is pretty good. Full Review

Nice and responsive. Takes some time to get used to it like any other platform. It has a vivid community that is truly helpful but sometimes rather hostile. Idk how I feel about that; for the most part, the app is a great way to engage with other people sharing a common interest. Full Review

This would have been 5 stars, reddit is an incredible community with great content, the new update however completely messed with the UI, usability, load times and ease of use. Whenever I click an image it freezes the entire app, if it loads without crashing the app, the image sometimes is pure white. Sometimes opening comment threads crashes the app and so does simply scrolling. There is way too much unused white space. I'll redo this review when this is resolved. Full Review

The app freezes multiple times daily and opening gifs and web pages cause dramatic lag, stuttering, and long hang times between hardware button presses the resulting actions e.g. Pressing back causes the app to hang on a black screen for approx. 30 seconds. I will adjust my rating if and only if the app is patched and the problem is remedied. Best wishes. Full Review

Whoever just updated this app will be forever hated by me. It was running smoothly, but you turds needed a spiffy user interface instead of a quick content viewing experience. Now the images blur into the page when I click them and loading takes longer. Thanks guys. Full Review

Love the app and Reddit community, but this latest update makes this app a waste of space. It runs slow, freezes up every time I switch threads, and occasionally closes itself without prompt. I also don't care too much for how the appearance of the app has changed. Makes it worse knowing that the change in visuals is what made this app useless. Full Review

After most recent update, app becomes unresponsive and delayed to input. Replying to comments takes my S8+ atleast 10 - 15 seconds before any keyboard inputs are recognised. Constant crashes and increase resource hog. If it remains this broken will look for a 3rd party app instead. Full Review

New Update has made 50% or more of the app unusable for me. Attempting to comment crashes the app. Any links clicked crashes it. Often times simply clicking anything on the front page crashes it. The crash normally takes 10-20 seconds, which is obviously quite annoying. Anyway, Im looking forward to when this is all fixed because i previously really really enjoy the app. Full Review

This app was awesome until it updated. It is literally unusable. Every time i open a picture the entire app crashes and i have to relaunch. It wont register my keyboard half the time so it takes me 5 minutes to leave a 1 word comment. I cant post images or links at all. Id give it a 0 if possible. Seriously disappointed in this update. Not much to say. It works. Almost like using the actual site itself Edit 1/1/18: The most recent update makes it crash frequently on my phone. This was a great app until the most recent update. The app is now painfully slow and some actions take multiple presses before they work. There is a delay every time I write a comment now. The app crashes quite often. Also, the font was changed for some unknown reason. This new update is, frankly, a disaster and I hope a fix will be implemented soon. Full Review

Latest update to 2.22.1 has been very a bumpy ride. Just one useful functionality added. With each update it gets worse and worse. The most recent one introduced a bug where when you click on a post a random one will open instead. None of the links stay grey after you have clicked them and they some how made the lag between when you click on a link and the link opening even longer than it was before. Step up your game, you guys are making a mediocre app interface even worse. Full Review

The app was great until the latest update. 2 issues with the new update. I don't like the new interface, but like I'll get used to it. The real problem is that it freezes and crashes SO MUCH. Used to work great but after last update it sucks. If I'm reading a post and have to exit the app briefly, when I return to Reddit it crashes and I have to close, open, and find what I was reading, only for it to happen again any time I exit the app, or even letting the screen time out. This is very frustrating as I used to be able to keep an ask Reddit thread open all day so I could keep coming back to it. Full Review

The app was nice before the update, now I can't even use it. It's transitions to each page and external links are slow, as well as coming back to reddit in the same window. I don't comment anymore because it takes upwards of 20 seconds to get the prompt to show. It WAS a good app, and I understand what the update was set to accomplish, but it's far too sluggish to use in some aspects now. Full Review

I have loved this app for a long time until the most recent update. I have never written an app review before but my hope is the devs read these and seriously consider the feedback. App constantly freezes when trying to write a comment or reply. Scrolling and opening links is extremely laggy, to the point my whole phone freezes and has required a hard reset.
